Viral Gastroenteritis
Viral gastroenteritis, often referred to as the "stomach flu," is an infection of the stomach and intestines caused by various viruses, such as norovirus or rotavirus. It spreads easily through contaminated food, water, or contact with infected individuals. Symptoms typically include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and low-grade fever. While most cases resolve within a few days, severe dehydration can occur, particularly in young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
