GastroDoxs is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Technician to join our gastroenterology team. This position plays a critical role in providing accurate diagnostic support to our providers and ensuring high-quality patient care through precise laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by pathologists.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and tissue processors.
  • Ensure specimens are labeled, tracked, and stored accurately in compliance with protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss findings and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in laboratory quality control and participate in continuing education to stay updated with advancements in pathology.
  • Prepare and organize laboratory reagents, slides, and other consumables to support efficient workflows.
  • Support research or clinical studies by processing samples according to study-specific protocols when applicable.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Laboratory Science, Pathology, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Pathology Assistant or Histotechnician (HT) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a pathology or clinical laboratory is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in tissue preparation and staining techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in sample handling.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
